Point of Care Ultrasound Workshop for Advanced Practice Nursing Fundamentals
and e-FAST Course

 

School of Nursing and Health Studies, University of Miami is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

8 CNE hours will be awarded.

Workshop Overview:

  • Online module pre-learning content covering the basics of ultrasonography.
  • Interactive classroom instruction and hands-on learning format incorporating virtual anatomy cadaver model, static anatomic models, and simulated and live POCUS case scenarios.
  • Course design focus on relational anatomy, technology and technique, and clinical application cases.

 

Workshop Outline:

  • Fundamentals of Ultrasonography
  • Anatomy Review
  • FAST and eFAST POCUS exams
  • Clinical case simulation scenarios

 

The Simulation Hospital:

Five-story, stand-alone simulated hospital for immersive clinical simulation and research: Emergency Department, Out-patient Clinic, Operating Rooms, ICU, Labor & Delivery, NICU/PICU, Med-Surg and Telemetry units, Home Health Apartment, and the Helen Fuld Skills Resource Center.
